The First Glance 12L” provides a first look at the financial performance of banks in the West each quarter. The latest report, “Nascent Recovery Inches Forward” details various improving metrics in profitability, asset quality, liquidity, and capital adequacy through the second quarter of 2011. In addition, the report highlights a few “Banks Supervisors’ Hot Topics”: 1) banks reducing ALLL levels, 2) weak housing market & impact, 3) CRE income property loan quality and vulnerability, 4) interest rate risk via lengthening of asset maturities, and 5) expansion into unfamiliar lending areas.
