FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY:
STANDARD FLOOD HAZARD DETERMINATION FORM

To State Member Banks
in the Twelfth Federal Reserve District

Final Rule and Request for Comment Regarding Flood Hazard Form

In the May 21, 1998, Federal Register, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published a final rule and notice (vol. 63, no. 98; pp. 27856-27857) regarding the Standard Flood Hazard Determination form.

The final rule removes from FEMA's regulations the appendix that contains the Standard Flood Hazard Determination form. This action will enable the agency to incorporate changes to the form outside of the rulemaking process. The final rule also provides information about how to obtain copies of the form by written request, though fax-on-demand, and through FEMA's Internet site. The rule became effective on May 21, 1998.

The notice requests comments from the public about proposed changes to the Standard Flood Hazard Determination form. Comment is requested by July 20, 1998.
