Julie Moreno

Julie Moreno is Surgeon General Assignee to the Domestic Policy Council, where she is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Report to the President from the White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity. Currently twelve federal agencies participate in advancing the 70 recommendations that include federal, state, local, and private sector action. Julie is on assignment to the White House from the Department of Health and Human Services, where she worked with three Surgeons General on broad prevention efforts that include obesity prevention, tobacco prevention and cessation, and other public health issues of national significance. In addition to helping develop the White House Task Force Report on Childhood Obesity, Julie helped develop Surgeon General Regina Benjamin’s Vision for a Healthy and Fit Nation, which was released in 2010. Julie holds a Masters in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, with a focus on maternal and child health.
