Stephanie Forbes is Executive Director of Bay Area Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC).  Ms. Forbes leads all aspects of LISC’s work in the greater San Francisco bay region, with a focus on building sustainable and equitable neighborhoods by creating engaged communities, and supporting affordable housing and community facilities, vital neighborhood business districts, and economic opportunities for families.   In addition to its extensive program offerings and support, Bay Area LISC invests of hundreds of millions of dollars towards affordable housing and community facilities, health clinics, schools and food stores throughout the Bay Area's nine-county region.  Ms. Forbes has over 20 years of direct experience in the field of affordable housing and community development and has worked in a variety of governmental and nonprofit positions prior to joining Bay Area LISC in 1998.  A San Francisco native, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Arts degree in urban and regional planning from the University of California at Los Angeles.
