On September 3, in conjunction with SOCAP13, we hosted SOCAP Health and heard from a range of experts as they explored the new health impact economy and highlighted examples of successful efforts that are improving health in low-income neighborhoods.
The discussion highlighted new health-oriented partnerships between community developers, public health officials, foundations, and bankers; new tools, like the Asthma Bond, that are capturing health savings and reinvesting them in community projects that improve population health; new investment vehicles, like the Healthy Futures Fund, which are enlisting impact investors to the health cause; and new research, led by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, that is driving the field forward.
