The Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and the Robert Wood Johnson (RWJ) Foundation co-hosted this conference to explore how the health and community development sectors can collaborate to promote better health outcomes for low-income people and communities by addressing issues concerning the social determinants of health.
   
Transit-Oriented Development Transit-Oriented Development
Community Investments: Volume 22, Issue 2, 2010
This issue of Community Investments explores the growing practice of transit-oriented development (TOD) and its implications for community development. The articles provide an introduction to basic TOD concepts and also explore issues such as how transit affects economic opportunities for LMI workers and the interrelationship between transit and schools. We also examine equity issues in TOD and transit funding, and highlight models for protecting the interests of LMI communities affected by TOD.
   
Call for Papers: 2011 Community Affairs Research Conference Call for Papers: 2011 Community Affairs Research Conference
The Community Affairs Officers of the Federal Reserve System invite paper submissions for the seventh Federal Reserve Community Affairs Research Conference, to be held April 28-29, 2011, in Arlington, Virginia. The goal of the conference is to highlight new research that can directly inform community development policy and practice in the wake of the deepest recession since the pre-War period.  Click here for more information on submission guidelines.
   
CRA Public Hearing

CRA Public Hearing
The federal bank and thrift regulatory agencies are hosting a series of meetings to hear public comment on modernizing the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations. The agencies will consider how to update the regulations in light of changes in the industry since the last major review of the regulations in 1995. In the 12th District, a hearing will be held on August 17, 2010 at the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

   
Preserving Communities Preserving Homeownership Foreclosure Resource Center
Provides research and resources on the foreclosure crisis, including a toolbox for mitigating the negative impacts of foreclosures at the local level and PowerPoint presentations on housing and mortgage market trends within the Federal Reserve's 12th District.
