Introduction to Community Profiles

The Community Affairs unit of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is proud to introduce its latest edition of Community Profiles (formerly titled Community Investment Opportunities). The purpose of the directory is to inform financial institutions about organizations involved in community and economic development and about opportunities for involvement. Mission statements were provided by each organization and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

This directory is not exhaustive and not all opportunities listed herein necessarily will qualify for consideration under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Community Affairs staff are available to assist in determining if specific activities qualify for consideration under the regulation.

The mission of the Community Affairs unit of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is to provide banks and bank holding companies with information on appropriate programs to facilitate their community development efforts. By focusing on organizations that offer lending, service and investment opportunities, profiles are just one way in which the Community Affairs unit helps financial institutions identify opportunities to affiliate with other organizations and to bolster their CRA performance. We hope that you will use this directory frequently, and give us feedback on how it works.

Community Affairs staff publish Community Investments magazine, develop conferences and seminars, make individual presentations to a variety of groups and develop and update directories like this one for other cities within the Federal Reserve System’s Twelfth District.

If you are interested in learning more about Community Affairs activities or if you would like to be on our mailing list, please contact the Community Affairs unit at (415) 974-2978 or by email at Community Affairs.
