| The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Fresno EOC and office of Congressman Cardoza hosted a group of local stakeholders to discuss the impact of foreclosure on the immediate community and to explore ideas for stabilizing neighborhoods that have been the most adversely affected. The meetings were held in Fresno on October 16 and Modesto on October 17 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (see agenda). Some of the presentations from those meetings are provided below.
The primary topic at both meetings was the allocation of Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds from HUD to cities and counties and how these funds can be used most effectively for their intended purpose. Representatives from the CA state Community Development Block Grant Program were also present to explain the process and timing to apply for funding from the allocation that they received. You can visit their page for updates on this process or to contact someone in that office.
Questions about next steps from these meetings can be directed to Lena Robinson at 415-974-2717.
