On October 23, 2008 the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, in cooperation with the Office of the Comptroller and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco hosted a one day forum on the Low Income Housing Tax Credit ("LIHTC") program. The agenda included an introduction to LIHTC investments, a discussion of how they work and who uses them today, along with overview of how the LIHTC qualifies as an eligible CRA investment activity. Guest speakers included Terry Kimm, principal of the Reznick Group, Ben Phillips, the regional director of Mercy Housing, Sy Garban, senior vice president of WNC & Associates, Inc., and the primary sponsor and facilitator of the event, Barry Wides of the Office of the Comptroller.
