Event Description

This highly informative session highlighted programs and opportunities available for homeownership – including specific programs for first-time homebuyers.

At this meeting participants discussed:

  • The current state of homeownership in their area
  • Available down payment assistance programs that could help them qualify as first-time homebuyers
  • Information on resources and loan programs available from government entities, nonprofit organizations and local lenders
  • The current lending environment and what it takes to get homebuyers approved for loans in today’s marketplace
  • The resources offered by homebuyer counseling agencies and learned how to collaborate with them to assist homebuyers and current homeowners
  • Their challenges and networked with others interested in increasing their homeownership in their area

Realtors, lenders, nonprofit organizations involved with homeownership, public officials and civic leaders interested in homeownership
