Location details:  United Way of Southern Nevada is located on the north side of Flamingo Road between Tamarus and Spencer.  The building is set back from the street and can be accessed by the driveway between “Murphy’s Law” and “Dinettes & Barstools”.  Free parking is located directly in front of the building.

Event Description

This class is designed to discuss the issues relating to the development of a Leadership and Succession Plan for nonprofit organizations.  We will define general strategies for discussions with the Board of Directors, organizational staff and community stakeholders.  We will explore key issues related to planned and unplanned leadership departures and how to deal with each issue.

By attending the hands-on class, participants can expect to learn best practices for:

  • Better communication within your organization and out in the community
  • Strategies for cultivating leadership both within and outside of your organization
  • How to develop an on-going succession plan for key staff and board members
  • How to establish more effective interactions between those in key leadership positions
