Event Description

Who should attend? Community based organizations, local government, staff, faith based groups, grant writing consultants, serving nonprofits

The Art and Science of Grant Writing is a FREE two-day workshop allowing participants to gain a competitive edge when preparing grant proposals and structuring their organization/program in a way that is more conducive to securing government, corporate or foundation funding. Workshops will be led by experienced Federal Agency grant writing trainers & reviewers providing participants an opportunity to learn grant writing techniques & strategies to access government funds, demystifying logic models, leveraging funds and building key partnerships and collaborations. Options for the more experienced grant writers as well as group consultations will be provided throughout the two days.

The workshop will provide comprehensive instruction on all aspects of preparing your organization and proposal for competitive funding. Individuals and organizations proficient in grant writing may be interested in the Targeted Track, designed to focus on and sharpen very specific strategies. Only representatives from organizations that meet the following criteria are encouraged to register for this track. Non-profit organizations without their 501c3 status should plan to take the comprehensive sessions. Please see the agenda for additional details.

Criteria for Targeted Track Participation:

Government or quasi-government agencies (e.g. housing authorities, government-chartered organizations)

Global, national or other organizations with a large scope where strategy is not made locally

Organizations that already receive government or consistent foundation funding
