Event Description

One of the prominent issues that is raised when discussing barriers to employment for the low and moderate-income population is the issue of transportation. This meeting will introduce Ways to Work, a nonprofit financial empowerment loan program that helps working families move beyond poverty through access to financial education and reliable transportation.

Ways to Work is a unique Community Development Financial Institution based in Milwaukee, WI. Through a network of more than 50 loan offices across the country, they provide small, short-term low-interest loans to hardworking, credit-challenged families. This effort is designed to provide an alternative to predatory lenders for people with a demonstrated commitment to achieving increased self-sufficiency.

Ways to Work, Inc. facilitates the replication of the Ways to Work program nationwide by working with local communities and non-profit agencies to access the community need, interest and commitment to launching a Ways to Work program.

Please join us for an introductory meeting to learn about the program and to discuss whether there is a need in Utah that this program may address.
