San Diego financial institutions participated in a discussion of new CRA investment and lending initiatives, including an update on local San Diego financial education programs, and a panel discussion by federal banking examiners on the topic of the new CRA Questions &Answers (Q&A). The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the U.S. Department of HUD and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency arranged with Chase's Homeownership Preservation Office to provide Foreclosure Prevention Training to stakeholders working to mitigate foreclosures in several cities around the 12th district. This training provided an opportunity to expand the breadth of counseling resources for sustaining homeownership in distressed areas.

We hosted a discussion of community responses to rising mortgage defaults and foreclosures. Several indicators suggest that more homeowners may be at risk of losing their homes, threatening to reverse gains in homeownership and destabilize low-income neighborhoods. This forum focused on collaborative solutions for borrowers and neighborhoods affected by foreclosures.

Tribal leaders and staff, lenders, title companies, and others gathered at workshops across the country on improving the mortgage approval process in Indian Country. Participants learn how they could help tribal members become homeowners by helping make the mortgage approval process more efficient. creating a taskforce around foreclosure prevention in Arizona
communities. This meeting convened interested stakeholders

mortgage foreclosures in Arizona.

was the first follow-up meeting from the June 7th "Preserving
Homeownership—Preserving Communities" Forum. The
message that resounded from the June 7th Forum was that there
was interest in creating a taskforce to address the critical
issues relating to foreclosure prevention in Nevada communities.
This meeting started the discussion on the framework of the
proposed taskforce/coalition, identifying and prioritizing "next

Several

we explored these trends in six cities in Arizona, California,
and Nevada. These sessions focused on collaborative solutions

Humanity of Washington State held a one-day workshop for
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee Area staff
and volunteers. Attendees included other HFH affiliates,
local planning officials, and other HFH partners. The workshop
focused on fundraising, collaboration with lenders, and strengthening
