Speech Requests

Speech requests from the public are coordinated through the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Public Information (PI) Department. The mission of the PI Department is to facilitate greater public understanding of the Federal Reserve System and its functions, policies, and operations. The department is headquartered in San Francisco, with management and professional staff located in each branch office.

Typical speech topics include:

  • Purposes and Functions of the Federal Reserve System
  • Banking Regulations
  • Economic Conditions
  • Financial Services

Generally we fulfill requests from non-profit/not-for-profit organizations, and requests must be received at least one month prior to the speaking engagement. There are timing restrictions or FOMC blackout periods* for certain types of speeches.
