MEDIA ADVISORY: Emergency Preparedness Exercise
SAN FRANCISCO, February 24, 1999--The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco
and the San Francisco Police Department will conduct an emergency preparedness
exercise at the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank this evening, Wednesday,
February 24.
This exercise is not open to the media or the public, and for security
reasons, we will not discuss details of the drill beyond this notice.
However, because there will be police vehicles and personnel on site,
someone passing by might assume that a real life "police action" is underway
at the Fed, when it isn't. Therefore, we wanted you to know about this,
to avoid needlessly alarming the public.
