Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco names Arizona executive to Advisory Council
San Francisco, June 4, 2003 – Arizona real estate executive John H. Gleason (Jack) has been appointed to the Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Members of the Advisory Council are from diverse industries and regions, and provide the Federal Reserve System with important grassroots information regarding the District’s nine-state economy.
Gleason is the managing member of ComPlan Advisors, LLC, a consulting group that specializes in community planning and entitlement. He has over 35 years of homebuilding and development experience in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Illinois and the Southeast. Prior to ComPlan, Gleason was executive vice president for the Del Webb Corporation. He was responsible for acquisition, planning, construction, and initial operation of all new Sun City communities. The Del Webb Corporation is the nation’s leading builder of active adult communities for people age 55 and older, and merged with Pulte Homes in 2001.
Gleason is past chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix and on the boards of Kids at Hope and Social Venture Partners. His previous community affiliations include membership in the Council for Design Excellence, the support group of Arizona State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design; as a board member of Arizona Town Hall; and as a member of the Urban Land Institute. He is also a former director of the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, having served in that capacity from April 1997 through December 2002.
Gleason received his Bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Southern California. He resides in Scottsdale and is often a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
