San Francisco, April 7, 2009 – The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco announced its 2009 Economic Advisory Council today, with three new members: Jonathan Coslet, senior partner and chief investment officer of TPG Capital, Tracey C. Doi, group vice president and CFO of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., and Alfred A. Plamann, president and CEO of Unified Grocers, Inc. In addition, Mary F. Kaiser, president of the California Community Reinvestment Corporation, was appointed vice chairman of the Council for 2009.
Mr. Coslet is a senior partner and chief investment officer of TPG Capital and a member of the firm's Investment and Management Committees. Prior to joining TPG, he worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, specializing in acquisitions. Mr. Coslet has served on the boards of directors of Burger King, Neiman Marcus, PETCO Animal Supplies, J. Crew, Biomet and Iasis Healthcare. Currently, he serves on the Harvard Business School Dean's Advisory Board and on the board of the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Mr. Coslet received his degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was valedictorian, summa cum laude, a Gordon Fellow and a Steur Fellow. He received his M.B.A. from Harvard University where he was a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Fellow.
Ms. Tracey C. Doi is group vice president and CFO of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., the marketing, sales, distribution and customer service arm of Toyota, Lexus and Scion. Ms. Doi joined Toyota in 2000 as vice president, corporate controller and was appointed to CFO in 2003. Prior to joining Toyota, she was director of finance for AT&T Wireless in Los Angeles, controller for L.A. Cellular Telephone Company, and vice president and controller for L.A. Gear, Inc. Ms. Doi serves on the board of directors for the March of Dimes, California chapter, the board of governors for the Japanese American National Museum, and the board of directors for the Japan America Society. She received her degree in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Certified Public Accountant designation while at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Mr. Plamann has been president and CEO of Unified Grocers, Inc. in Commerce, California since September 1999 when Certified Grocers of California, Ltd. merged with United Grocers, Inc. of Portland, Oregon. Prior to the merger, Mr. Plamann was president and CEO of Certified Grocers of California. Mr. Plamann serves on the boards of the Food Marketing Institute, the National Cooperative Grocers Association and the Washington, D.C.-based National Cooperative Bank. He is a board member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the Town Hall of Los Angeles. Mr. Plamann received his degree in accounting and real estate from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Kaiser is president of the California Community Reinvestment Corporation (CCRC), a statewide multi-bank lending consortium, funded by 50 banks and investors. CCRC provides long-term real estate financing and equity to affordable housing developments throughout California. Ms. Kaiser has 30 years of banking experience, specializing in marketing, lending and integrating the delivery of financial products and services. She began her career at First Interstate Bank in 1975 and joined Bank of A. Levy in 1987 as an executive vice president and chief operating officer. Ms. Kaiser has been with the California Community Reinvestment Corporation since 1995. She is a board member of the Low Income Investment Fund and the Advisory Board of the California Housing Consortia, as well as secretary of the board of the Community Reinvestment Fund. Ms. Kaiser also serves as a Pepperdine Career Coach. She received a degree in psychology from San Diego and an M.B.A. from California Lutheran University. Ms. Kaiser joined the Economic Advisory Council in April 2007.
Economic Advisory Council members provide information on current and pending developments in the regional and national economy. In their new role, Economic Advisory Council members will represent their industries by providing observations and opinions to the board of directors and management of the San Francisco Fed on the present state of the economy, and the developments within their area of expertise.
The new members will serve three-year terms ending December 2011.

Stephen M. Brophy, president, Page Land & Cattle Company, Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Brophy was reappointed as chairman of the Economic Advisory Council starting in January 2009. He has served as chairman since 2007.
Susan Desmond-Hellmann, president of Product Development, Genentech, Inc., South San Francisco, California.
John H. (Jack) Gleason, managing member, Community Planning Advisors, LLC, Scottsdale, Arizona.
Rick R. Holley, president and CEO, Plum Creek Timber Co., Inc., Seattle, Washington.
