CPBS 2022 Pacific Basin Research Conference: Call for Papers

Conference Description

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Center for Pacific Basin Studies is pleased to announce its 2022 Pacific Basin Research Conference, to be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. We invite submissions of research papers focused on both theoretical and empirical topics in open-economy macro and international finance with relevance to economic and policy issues facing the Pacific Region.

Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Policy issues under elevated global uncertainty
  • International spillovers of new monetary policy strategies
  • Inflation in the post-pandemic world
  • Scarring effects from the pandemic on the global economy
  • Capital flows and capital account policy
  • Macro and distributional effects of global supply chain disruptions
  • Growth prospects in Asia and the rest of the global economy
  • Zero COVID policy in China and impact on the global economy
  • Japanese economic policy
  • Demographic issues in Asia and the global economy

Submission of Papers

Submissions should be sent in PDF format to sf.er.pacific.basin@sf.frb.org by August 15, 2022. Completed papers will be preferred. The conference provides limited funding for economy-class travels and up to two nights of hotel accommodations for presenting participants. The conference papers will be posted online at the CPBS homepage, but we do not intend to publish a conference volume.
