2008 National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference
Sunday, March 30 - Wednesday, April 2, 2008
San Francisco, CA
Over 700 representatives from financial institutions, regulatory agencies, government agencies and nonprofits gathered in San Francisco from March 30 – April 2 for the 2008 National Interagency Community Reinvestment Conference. The conference provided participants with the unique opportunity to learn about the regulations underpinning the Community Reinvestment Act, as well as to share emerging challenges and best practices in community development with colleagues from across the country.
Through interactive panels and plenaries, participants learned not only about the nuts and bolts of assessment areas and public welfare benefit limits, but also about how to develop “green” affordable housing, mitigate the impact of foreclosures on neighborhoods, underwrite community facility deals, and develop secondary markets for community development loans. Conference highlights included remarks by President Janet Yellen from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and Robert Reich, professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley.

We hope to see you at the next conference in 2010!
