As part of our outreach and education efforts, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco facilitates opportunities for our senior leaders, economists, and subject matter experts to make presentations or give remarks to nonprofit organizations, trade groups, industry conferences, and academic institutions. Our speakers can address topics across a number of areas, including economic matters, monetary policy, and Federal Reserve functions and research.

We consider the forum, subject matter, audience reach, and the availability of our speakers when evaluating speaking requests. While we prioritize requests originating from the states and territories that comprise the Twelfth Federal Reserve District, we will also consider national, international, and other speaking opportunities.

Please note: We do not accept requests to speak at political gatherings or organizations, fundraising events, events hosted by investment/financial firms, private events sponsored by for-profit companies, events designed for clients or prospective clients, or where it is implied that attendees may receive preferential access or treatment. Our speaker program is provided at no cost. Our speakers are prohibited from accepting gifts, honoraria, or other compensation.

Speakers covering monetary policy, banking, or economic issues are not available during Federal Reserve blackout periods, which begin on midnight of the second Saturday preceding a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, and last until midnight the full day following the meeting.

Considerations

The SF Fed will livestream, record, and/or publish on our website and social media channels President Mary C. Daly’s public remarks. Media will also be notified of speaking engagements by President Daly and other senior SF Fed executives.

The SF Fed should be given advance opportunity to review invitations, promotional materials, and announcements for any agreed upon speaking engagements prior to promotion.
