About the Speaker

Charles I. (Chad) Jones is the STANCO 25 Professor of Economics at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a former co-editor of Econometrica, and the author of two undergraduate textbooks. His research centers on the causes and consequences of long-run economic growth. Most recently, he’s focused on how population and economic growth interact and the economics of artificial intelligence, growth, and existential risk.
