The Federal Reserve Board announced on November 30, 2011 the appointment of Michael S. Gibson as director of the Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation, effective January 1, 2012. Gibson, a deputy director in the Board's Division of Research and Statistics with an expertise in risk management and financial markets, succeeds Patrick M. Parkinson. Parkinson is retiring after more than 30 years of service with the Board.
