Bård Harstad is professor in economics at the University of Oslo, and an editor of Review of Economic Studies. He has published research articles on international political economy, the political economy of regulation, climate policies, and on conservation and supply-side environmental policies. For some of this research, he has received an ERC Starting Grant, an ERC Consolidator Grant, and twice the biannual Kempe Award for the best European paper in the field of environmental and resource economics. Before he returned to the University of Oslo in his native Norway, Harstad was the Max McGraw Chair in Management & Environment at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

This seminar is part of the Virtual Seminar on Climate Economics series hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and is open to everyone interested in research on the economics of climate change.
