San Francisco, CA – The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has announced the appointment of Luz Urrutia, chief executive officer of Accion Opportunity Fund, to the Bank’s Community Advisory Council (CAC). Ms. Urrutia joined Opportunity Fund in 2017, helping to scale and deepen the impact of the non-profit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in California while expanding its reach nationwide. She began her career at Wachovia, where she spent 18 years, before founding El Banco de Nuestra Comunidad, a community bank based in Atlanta, Georgia serving the underbanked LatinX population. Federal Reserve announces vendor award for the next generation of currency processing equipment
The Federal Reserve System’s Cash Product Office announced today that Giesecke+Devrient Currency Technology America, Inc. Fed report shows consumers are keeping more cash on-hand during the COVID-19 pandemic
A majority of consumers, 70 percent of those surveyed, say that COVID-19 concerns have not caused them to avoid carrying or storing cash, according to a recent survey conducted by the Federal Reserve System’s Cash Product Office (CPO) and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. The Federal Reserve conducts an annual consumer survey to better understand payment behavior and preferences. Since the last study in October 2019, before the spread of COVID-19, the Fed completed a follow-up survey in May 2020 to understand changes in payment practices since the start of the pandemic. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco announced today it will host a series of virtual research seminars on the economics of climate change. The online seminars will draw on a range of topics from macroeconomics, microeconomics, finance, econometrics, and environmental economics. The first session in the series will take place July 16 at 8:00 AM Pacific Time. The session will feature Harvard University economics professor James H.
