Affordable Housing

Housing that is affordable is important to economic participation, affecting people’s access to jobs, schools, and transportation. Affordable housing in the United States means housing costs that do not exceed 30% of a household’s total income. It can also refer to programs that subsidize the cost or production of housing for low-income households.
